Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Bethel Prayer & Healing Centre?

The Bethel Prayer & Healing Centre is a healing ministry that is a part of the Bethel International Church.  It is made up of small prayer teams (2 to 4 in a team).  The team has at its disposal a wide variety of spiritual gifts and experiences to encourage in-depth ministry.  The privacy of individuals requesting prayer is maintained in a confidential environment while prayer takes place and caring personal relationships are built.

What is the purpose of the Bethel Prayer & Healing Centre?

The purpose of the Prayer & Healing Centre is to give people an opportunity to come to Jesus with their needs. Anyone, regardless of age, race, gender, beliefs or faith can present their requests to Jesus.
“Come to me, ALL you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Jesus Christ (Matthew 11:28, NLT Bible).
The Prayer & Healing Centre provides a private place to pray as well as the prayer team to pray with or for you.

How long does each prayer session take?

Each prayer session may take 15 to 30 minutes.

How often do I have to come to the prayer centre?

You may come as often as you want.  We encourage everyone to come till they receive the answer they are looking for.

What is prayer?

There are many types of prayer.  The prayer that is most commonly practiced in the Prayer & Healing setting is one where a person comes before God to present his or her requests to Him in order to receive from Him what is humanly impossible to achieve.  Prayer, in this case, is the human attempt to seek Divine intervention.
Jesus said, “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7, 8, NLT Bible).

Does God really want to heal?

God has revealed Himself as “I am the LORD who heals you” (Exodus 15:26 NLT Bible).  And Jesus had  prioritized divine healing in His earthly ministry.  Since “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever,” (Hebrews 13:8 NLT Bible), He will do the same for you today.

What if I don’t see the result I am seeking for?

Healing can be instantaneous.  But more often than not, it is a process.  It may take days, weeks, months or even years for complete healing to take place.  In this case the symptoms may gradually dissipate.  At other times all the symptoms may disappear in one instance, but not necessarily immediately after the prayer.  The answer to our prayers often comes when we are not even consciously thinking of it.  Healing can take many forms. If no physical healing takes place, there can be at least a peace to accept things, and the strength to move on.

How is prayer beneficial?

Knowing that the all powerful God is now in charge of one’s condition or situation can produce a peace of mind, bring hope and comfort, and give the courage to move forward.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6, 7, NLT Bible).
