3. Members-formal commitment
What do we mean by church membership?
1. Official and public identification with a local assembly of believers.
2. Declaration of commitment to a local expression of the worldwide body of Christ
3. Affirmation of the need of believers to be accountable to one another in a tangible and visible setting
Why should I become a member?
1. To place yourself under the spiritual care and covering of the local church and its leadership.
2. To serve in ministry under the direction of the church leadership
3. To have a framework in which you can exercise your spiritual gifts for the benefit of all.
4. To share in the decision-making process.

Bethel International Church Members’ Covenant
- We affirm our membership in Christ’s church and our fellowship in this congregation sharing the same statement of faith and the same vision of ministry.
- We are a worshipping community that exists for the purpose of glorifying God by bringing people into relationship with Jesus Christ and equipping them to be faithful and effective disciples of Christ in today’s world.
- We commit ourselves to be workers together with God and with our brothers and sisters in Christ under the spiritual direction of the pastors of this church.
- We will do so by our faithful involvement in ministry according to the gifts God has given us.
- We will pray consistently for the leadership and the church.
- We will make every effort to keep spiritual unity by supportive conversation and co-operative action.
- We will endeavour with the help of the Holy Spirit to live godly lives.
- We will generously support the ongoing ministries of the church with our finances.
- We will be obedient to the Great Commandment, loving God and our neighbour.
- We will participate in the fulfilment of the Great Commission, making disciples of all nations.
- We thus covenant together with our spiritual leaders to rededicate ourselves to God so that his purposes would be fulfilled in our lives and in this local church.
