God SO LOVED the WORLD…

2 December 2011 No Comment

The world is made up of an incredible mosaic of people, with much diversity, yet having one common humanity:

  • people of every age, and every generation in history
  • people of different genders and marital status
  • people of diverse “tribes”, languages, and nations
  • people in every aspect of society at large.

But regardless of how one categorizes people, God loves us all.  The Bible shows us that the birth of Christ is incredibly significant for all people.  The truth is God sent His Son Jesus for all people, because all people are sinners, and God was motivated by love to provide a Saviour in Jesus Christ:

John 3:16

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

Titus 2:11

“For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people [through faith in Christ]”

Luke: 2:8-12

“That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep.  Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior-yes, the Messiah, the Lord-has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!”

As we enter into the Christmas season, there is good news: Jesus is God’s gift to you — and for all people!  He came and identified with people of every spectrum of life; he calls us and saves us out of our emptiness, dysfunction, sin, and pain;  he restores us to our original purpose in knowing God so we can live out His divine purpose for us, including the assurance of eternal life.   This Christmas, may each of us discover (or redsicover) the good news of God personal love for you through the coming of Christ to earth.  Have a blessed Christmas season!
